Austria Testbed (part of Funkfeuer.at)

Idea: have two testbeds: one in the Alps with rather long distance links, one in the city (shorter links, but more unpredictable interference)

City-mesh

The city-mesh will be part of the already existing networks Funkfeuer Wien, Funkfeuer Graz and Funkfeuer Weststeiermark. There will be two types of confine nodes inside these networks. One powerfull KVM-based setup ontop of Zotac ZBOX barebones and one outdoor proof ruggadized setup running on Alix Boards. The latter will be the majority of nodes. This is because the number of locations where a Zotac box will survive (temperature) is limited. A short description and an installation howto for the Zotac (kvm) setup can be found at KVM-based setup. The Alix (dedicated) setup is to be documented as soon as it is finished. We also plan to use DLEP on AirOS to gather information for the research device.

Funkfeuer Wien

Funkfeuer Wien uses Public IP addresses for the whole network. The subnet 78.41.119.0/24 is reserved for confine nodes. ( Private Range 10.255.128.0/24 was used previosely )An overview of how confine nodes are connected to the rest of the network: deployment wien png version

Funkfeuer Graz and Funkfeuer Weststeiermark

These two networks are one single olsr mesh and share the same network range. For now mostly 10.12.0.0/16 is used but Funkfeuer Weststeiermark is about to switch to the range 10.51.0.0/16. Additional Funkfeuer Graz has 512 public IPv4 addresses which get deployed using IPIP tunnels. An overview of how confine nodes are connected to the rest of the network:
